PYTHA Workshop - Automated Internal cutouts (PYTHA 25 and above)

PYTHA Workshop - Automated Internal cutouts (PYTHA 25 and above)

If running PYTHA Workshop in PYTHA 25 or above, it is possible to automatically export through internal cutouts, without the need to apply Router Edges. Any shape that has been booleaned right through a part will be exported automatically via Export to CAM. The tool assigned will be based on your Materials Strategies and will be the same as the tool assigned for your external part cutout.

To automatically export an internal cutout:
  • Ensure you are running an appropriate version of PYTHA by checking the Compiled Date of your .exe in Help > About PYTHA - you must be running a Compiled Date of 2022-10-06 or later to access this functionality
  • If not running a suitable .exe, close PYTHA Model, open PYTHA Central and select Extras > Check for PYTHA-update
  • Open Workshop > Settings > Workshop Rules > Router Rule and ensure "Cutouts, too" is activated:

  • Use Boolean > Difference to add any required internal through cutouts:

  • Your cutouts will be exported when you export your job through Export to CAM

NOTE: Router Edges must still be assigned to export machining such as Pockets and any Grooves / Rebates not generated by Type Automatic.
NOTE: If you are unable to run the PYTHA-update from the PYTHA Central you can download the current PYTHA 25 .exe HERE
