PYTHA - Copying Your Settings

PYTHA makes it easy to copy your existing settings to another computer using a Transfer File. You may have a new PC to set up or want to ensure that all users are running the same settings to ensure consistency and accuracy. These Transfer Files are also a great way to create a backup in case of a computer issue.

Settings can be taken from existing versions and imported into newer versions of PYTHA, or between the same versions.

To copy settings from an existing set up:
  1. If it's a new version of PYTHA, LAUNCH PYTHA in order to create default settings locations then close that version.
  2. Open PYTHA Central of where you wish to export the settings from.
  3. Click Extras > Export transfer file - this will open a new window.
  4. Name your transfer file with the PYTHA version and the origin (eg. PYTHA_25_SupportPC)
  5. Save your transfer file in a location that is accessible to the other computer, such as a network or removable flash drive. This will create a zip file that contains all your PYTHA settings from both your user appdata and your registry.

  1. LAUNCH the PYTHA that requires the settings.
  2. Click Extras > Import transfer file Select the previously exported file from the desktop or shared location.
  3. Navigate to the zip file generated above and select Open (there is no need to unzip this file before importing)
  4. Your settings will be updated

Note: If you are concerned that there may be settings on the second computer that you don't wish to lose, you should create a Transfer File of this system as a backup before importing the new settings.
