PYTHA import - Resizing imported 3D objects

PYTHA import - Resizing imported 3D objects

Sometimes when you import an external file, such as a .dwg or .3ds, it will have been drawn in a different scale. This means it may appear very large or very small relative to other parts of a PYTHA model. This means you will need to resize the object so that it will compatible with the rest of your PYTHA drawings.  You should always import external files into a new PYTHA model so that they do not interfere with current models .

To resize an item in PYTHA we use the function Part Tools 1 > Deformations > Zoom.

The easiest to use form of the Zoom function is Zoom To Length. An edge of known (or approximated) size is selected and the desired size entered in the 3D direction.

The 3D option is then selected. All edges of your import will now be Zoomed relative to the newly entered value. You can now save this as a PYTHA .pyo file for easy import into another model.
