PYTHA - Creating a New Materials File (PYTHA 24 and Earlier)
PYTHA allows you to create your own Materials files, allowing you to display true-to-life colours as part of your PYTHA model. Most major suppliers of materials (eg. prefinished board, laminate, veneer, solid surface) allow you to download colour samples of their products in the form of .jpeg images.
To create your own materials file:
- Download .jpegs for your new materials and save them in your "usr/TEXTURES" folder
- In PYTHA, click on the Materials menu
- Select Create new from the Materials file section
- In the Material editor dialogue box, enter the name of your new material
- Click the box marked "Texture" in the Texture section
- In the Select Image Files dialogue box, select the .jpeg image for your material
- Click New if more than one new material is needed and repeat the creation steps above
- Save your new materials fileto your "usr/TEXTURES" folder
- Click OK to exit the Materials editor
Note: If the .jpeg images used in your materials file are moved or deleted your materials will no longer display correctly in your PYTHA model.
