PYTHA to ALPHACAM - Processing Checklist

Below is a quick reference guide for successfully processing your jobs from PYTHA to AlphaCAM. Please find a printable version attached. 

PYTHA Process

1.       Draw model and fill in Project Header information

2.       Assign Materials and Edge Banding

o   PYTHA v25 material attribute requirements

§  Grained material: grain direction = 0 and nest rotation angle = 0

§  Plain material: grain direction = 3 and nest rotation angle = 90

3.       Apply machining as required

o   Type Automatic

o   My Holes

o   Router Edges

4.       Export to CAM, selecting a job folder and confirm your export

5.       Load parts list and select parts to export to AlphaCAM

6.       Select AlphaCAM list

7.       Export pylist to CSV using the AlphaCAM button within the parts list menu (bottom right)

8.       Save the CSV file in the subfolder “Pytha_DXF_data” located in your created job folder from step 4

9.       Save your PYTHA model

 

AlphaCAM Process

1.       Open Automation manager tab

2.       Open Automation manager

3.       Select the processing tab

4.       Select automation manager from the list on the left hand side

5.       Import Files with the option to the right selected as PythaJob (top right within the processing tab)

6.       Locate your CSV file created in PYTHA process step 8 and import your file

7.       Check materials have assigned correctly, this can be identified as a green tick at the top of the auto-associate sheet window

8.       Select your newly imported job

9.       Process Job (top right corner)

10.   Allow AlphaCAM to process all materials

11.   You can open your created job folder from the processing complete window by selecting the yellow folder on the right of this window, once opened select ok on this window

To check each sheet material and thickness created, the nest drawing files can be imported into AlphaCAM by dragging the .ard files into AlphaCAM’s graphical window
